We are working with our partners FSLogix to solve user experience challenges in XenApp and XenDesktop environments. The user experience changes when using applications in those environments as it’s not what they are used to. FSLogix Office 365 containers improves end user experience by giving them a more PC-like experience inside XenApp, XenDesktop and even On Premises environments.

Hi my name is Aaron parker I’m a solution architect with Insentra where we’re work with our partner FSLogix to solve end user experience challenges in XenApp and XenDesktop environments. If we consider what end user experience is like, especially compared to a physical PC, when a user is accessing their applications inside XenApp and XenDesktop and especially Outlook, the user experience changes – it’s not what they’re used to.
What we can do with FSLogix O365 containers is we can improve the end user experience by giving them a more PC-like end user experience inside XenApp and XenDesktop. And we do that by enabling cache mode inside Outlook and also enabling Windows Search, so the user gets the responsiveness that they expect inside Outlook and they get those instant search results that they expect on a physical PC. We’re not just looking at what we can do with Outlook, we’re looking at the overall user experience. How do we reduce log on times? How do we get those users to their applications faster?
And then if you’re also moving to Windows 10 and Windows Server 2016, these introduce a new way of actually delivering applications; a new way of delivering user profiles inside XenApp and XenDesktop environments. With FSLogix Profile Containers we can deliver the user’s profile, reduce log on time and deliver new types of applications successfully in these new operation systems.
So who is FSLogix Office 365 Containers for? It’s for anyone moving to Office 365, it’s also for customers still with on-premises exchange – it’s all about the end user experience. Most of the time we are working with customers moving to Office 365 and it’s absolutely a benefit in that area but it is also useful for anyone still with on-prem Exchange and they really want to improve that end user experience. They want to improve the user acceptance for any user using XenApp or XenDesktop environment. FSLogix also has profile containers solution whereby we can improve log on and application responsiveness time within inside that environment as well. Some of the benefits of FSLogix office 365 containers and profile containers includes its flexibility and simple architecture.
This includes the ability to work across not just XenApp and XenDesktop environments but Microsoft RDS, VMware Horizon, as well as any type of deployment architecture which includes on-premises Hypervisors like vSphere, XenServer, HyperV and so on, and cloud deployments such as Azure and AWS.
